Why Should You Wax?

Well you don’t have to do anything if you really don’t want to,  but being hairy and or stubbly with razor burn is the worst.  Waxing is one of the most effective semi-permanent hair removal solutions known to man. Besides it lasts way longer than shaving, because it removes the hair from the root.  While shaving only cuts the hair off at surface level, laser reduces it, and sugaring…well the jury is still out on that one.

Waxing vs. Shaving

Let’s say it takes you 20 minutes to shave in the shower in the morning and you have to do that every other day.  So you are spending 60 minutes or more per week and 4 hours per month shaving your unwanted body hair. Why not wax it,  once and month and you can have 3.5 hours of your life back.

Waxing vs. Laser

Waxing is more cost effective, and less painful than laser treatments.  Laser  touts being a permanent hair removal solution,  but it’s really only a hair reduction solution, know the difference. So what happens is, you spend thousands of dollars on Laser hair removal, and in the end you still have to wax.  Now,  don’t go getting your knickers in a bunch, because laser does work for some people (if you have fair skin and coarse dark hair).  However, I am not new to the game.  Over the past decade I have seen clients come and go and come again,  because laser does not always make your unwanted hair go buh-bye.

Waxing vs. Sugaring

I know people swear by sugaring, and it may be an effective hair removal method for a person that just can’t wax, because they have an allergy to bee, so by all means sugar until your heart’s content.  For those of us that are not allergic to bees, and are sugar curious…here’s the skinny.

With sugaring, you have to go every 3-4 weeks as opposed to waxing that will last you 4-6 weeks. Not to mention sugaring prices are on average $5 more expensive than waxing.  Think about it,  if you do an old faithful  bikini for $45 once a month, that works out being $11.25 per week.  Now let’s take the more expensive sugaring method at $50 every 3 weeks that hits your pocket at a whopping $16.66 per week.  Factor in your gas,  travel time and everything else.  Wouldn’t it make more sense to have that extra week of smoothdom?

Besides I haven't met a razor, laser,  or sugar paste that rivals my wax job. If and when I do I may consider jumping ship, but until then…happy waxing my friends.
